- As a CS student, at least, I've had to hack around in the Linux kernel a bit.
- Let me put it this way: I've always wondered how surgeons can eat meat without
- feeling lousy. There was stuff in there that I liked and there was stuff that I
- didn't like. Some of it I don't like at all.
-
- Anyway, again as a CS student, I'm surrounded by Linux fans and they usually
- listen to me telling them what the Amiga can do instead of the other way around.
- We're all more or less qualified to write a UNIX-like OS and have a good idea of
- what it does, but try finding a student with the talent to dream up an OS like
- the Amiga's!
-
- Heck, and if I forget all that then there's still that poor hack of an
- unorthogonal half-documented Little-Endian abomination they call a CPU.
-
- But it's all spilt milk now: I'm head over heels in love with the Amiga and
- there's nothing I can do about it. Couldn't change it if I wanted to. Some
- RISC workstations I find acceptable, and rationally I even think well of them.
- But none give me the pure joy of working with our Amiga's.
-
- I ran NetBSD for a while but I found it less stable in some strange ways and
- very soon I had managed to mess it up to the point where it wouldn't boot
- properly anymore. Oh well--it was too boring anyway.
